Since August 2001 to present Mr.
Arthur Aroustamov has been a Consultant in interpretation/translation for the
Associates in Rural Development, Inc. (ARD) branch in Armenia in support of the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Sustainable Water
Resources Management Project. As the Project Interpreter/Translator Mr.
Aroustamov is providing high-quality consecutive and simultaneous oral
interpretation of the project meetings and written translation of legal and
technical documents in the Armenian, English and Russian languages.
From October 2000 to July 2001 Arthur has been involved as Project Consultant in
the preparation of the Natural Resources Management and Poverty Reduction
Project under the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia
funded by the World Bank. He has been responsible for translating and editing
all the project reports/studies, as well as background information in the
Armenian, English and Russian languages.
From March 1990 to September 2001 he has been working as an official at the
Ministry of Nature Protection within the International Cooperation Department
and Office of the Minister. In his capacities he has been in charge of a wide
range of duties varied from Armenian/Russian-English translation of
environment-related technical reports and official documents to overall
coordination of international cooperation in the area of environmental
protection, including bilateral and multilateral agreements and international
environmental conventions.
In 1996 Arthur has been involved in the �Lake Sevan: Problems and Strategy of
Actions� International Conference, a project sponsored by the Armenian Ministry
of Nature Protection, United Nations Development Programme, French Embassy in
Armenia in cooperation with the World Bank. In the same year he has been also
working with the Lake Sevan Environmental Action Program, a project funded by
the World Bank.
In 1998 on behalf of the Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection Arthur
Aroustamov has been supervising the preparation process and management of
Armenia Pavilion at the EXPO'98 World Exposition with a general subject �The
Oceans: a Heritage for the Future� held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Mr. Arthur Aroustamov holds bachelor's degrees in the English Language from the
Yerevan Institute of Foreign Languages, and in Environmental Law from the
Yerevan University of Ecology and Law. In 1995 he has been awarded with a Master
of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations from the
American University of Armenia.
