Igor POLIKARPOV is acting head of
the Deartment of Plankton at Alexander Kovalevsky's Institute of Biology of the
Southern Seas (Sevastopol,Ukraine), which operates under the National Academy of
Sciences of Ukraine. He has also worked in the Karadag Natural Reserve in Crimea.
He has a degree in biology from Simferopol State University (1984). His Ph.D. in
General Ecology and Hydrobiology is from Lomonosov's Moscow State University
(1990).
His current interests are coastal ecology research and management, long-term
changes in marine ecosystems
