Ludmila ODINOKOVA is a senior specialist for the Committee on Environmental Protection in the Kamchatka region. Currently, she is the vice president of the Kamchatka Conservation Foundation, where she is directly involved in the planning and organization of natural parks on the Kamchatka Peninsula. In addition, she has lectured since 1995 on recreational geography at the University of the Russian Academy of Education. Her interests include environmental problems and sustainable development issues. She is active in the organization and operation of national parks and natural reserves. Her research work is related to ecotourism development, with a special emphasis on the ethical aspects of the tourism business.

L. Odinokova has a master's degree in oceanography from the Vladivostok State University. In 1992 she earned her qualification as an ecologist at the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University.
