Bulat Yessekin has worked as a
head of the Almaty City Ecological Department and as a manager of World Bank,
UNDP and HIID projects. Over the last ten years he has also been involved as the
National Coordinator for Kazakh ultilateral environmental agreements.
Bulat Yessekin is currently Executive Director of the Regional Environmental
Centre for Central Asia. This is independent, non-profit and non-political
organisation, created by five Central Asian governments, UNDP and the EU for
supporting cooperation between governments, NGOs and private sector for
environment and sustainable development (www.carec.kz). Bulat also holds a Ph.D
in technology from National Academy of science.
