Dr Gerard Rostom is currently a professor of geography department of Lipetsk state pedagogical university (Russia). Simultaneously works at Lipetsk state technical university and a private school. Teaches economic geography, demography, political science, regional science, environment studies, English.

Gerard was the first who started the geography department at Lipetsk state pedagogical university in 1989. Since that time he took part in many regional, all-Russia and international scientific conferences. Annually organizes social-economic investigations and field studies for senior students. Has more than 100 publications. In 2001 participated in an international academic exchange program with Southwest Virginia Community College (USA).

Gerard graduated from the geography faculty of Moscow state pedagogical university in 1989. Acquired a qualification of English and geography teacher. Later on specialised in economics. In 2001 received a Ph.D. degree in social, economic and political geography (Problems of Lipetsk social infrastructure development).

Gerard is an easy to deal with person. He likes nature, travelling, goes for sports (marathon, gymnastics), practices meditation.
