Shakhnoza Tashmetova is a tutor at the
department of sociology, economy and law of Moscow State Pedagogical University.
Since 2007 she is also a post-graduate student at the same university and
currently working on PhD thesis (culture department). Shakhnoza is Canadianist
and Orientalist, the member of the Russian Association for Canadian Studies and
the member European and Russian Associations for USA Literature and Culture
Studies, the author of the book which depicts the central role of Canadian
cities in the ethnocultural development and the major tendencies in the Canadian
cultural map. The latest new trends and current events in the field of teaching and Canadian studies are of particular interest to Shakhnoza and recently she have taken part in several international conferences and seminars on Canadian studies and new technologies in teaching.
