Alina Nekrich graduated from the Faculty of Geography at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) in 2004.

In 2008 she was confered on a Ph.D. in Geoecology from the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The title of Ph.D. thesis – «Geoecological Assessment of Territories under the Iron Ore Deposits Exploitation in Belgorod Region».

Presently, she works as a researcher at the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Also she is a member of the National Contact Point in the European Union Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7).

Her academic interests include: GIS(Geographic Information Systems), global man-induced changes of the environment, land use changes, landscape planning, ecological assessment of territories, anthropogenic effects (especially field development) on ecosystems.

A. Nekrich is an author more than 12 scientific publications in Russian and international reviewing journals like «Geoecology», «Problems of Regional Ecology», «Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences, series Geography». During 2004-2008 she participated in International conferences in Norway, India, Thailand, Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, USA.
